Low Back Pain
Neck pain is more frequent in an automobile accident then low back pain, but low lack pain is still very common. Chiropractors are especially helpful in treating back pain. In fact the low back is susceptible to whiplash injuries just as the neck is. The low back is a collection of bones that are stacked up on top of each other like blocks, All the bones in your spine are called vertebra and in the low back they have two main purposes. The first is to support the weight of the rest of your body which is heavy! The second is to protect the delicate spinal cord while allowing you to turn, twist and bend your torso. Because your brain and spinal cord (central nervous system) are so important this system is protected by the bones of your skull and the vertebra. The nerves that branch off of the spinal cord in your low back are called spinal nerves (Peripheral nervous system), The spinal nerves from your low back branch off and go to down your thighs to your feet to control the muscles, reflexes and sensations in your legs. Even a simple fall or sports injury is enough to cause an injury that creates ligament damage or compress a disc in the low back. Although your low back is very strong, it is still susceptible to injury from car accidents and falls with very little force, Recent research has proven that in slow rear end collisions with little or no damage to the car, significant low back injuries can occur! Worse still these injuries virtually guarantee the onset of degenerative arthritis in your low back if not treated appropriately. If you been in an auto accident or had a fall and are experiencing low back pain we can help! Chiropractic treatment is just the thing you need to get rid of the pain and avoid crippling degenerative arthritis in the future.
